How do I get rid of knee pain after running?

I just did about 14 laps around the track today, but when I got home, my knee started hurting really bad. The pain is on the right knee, on the inner-side of the knee. What should I do right now to ease the pain, and what can I do in the future to prevent this pain? I like running, but my knees say otherwise!

1. make sure you stretch before running and cool down afterwards about 10-15 minutes each time, It may seem stupid but it works, Drink LOTS of water, it helps avoid cramp, and pain...

As for now, keep your leg elevated and try ice first, for about 20 minutes, then switch to a heating pad...

Most important though is keep hydrated!

2. I have that problem too. My left knee doesn't have that problem though. I had to tolerate the pain after running everytime.

I suggest you try to add power-walking and/or yoga and/or cycling (for the leg muscles) to your current workout regimen. It'll ensure that your joints/tendons/ligaments are strong enough to support the impact of running/jogging. Also I heard fish oil helps. Doesnt hurt to try.

Also, please look into the link i gave you below, about knee pain fro sports like running/jumping. It helps. Cheers!
